Thailand - Land of Smiles - was
this year's holiday destination.
We started planning about half a year ahead after booking the flight to
Bangkok in September 2010. I studied 4 travel guidebooks, a lot of
Internet sites and hotel reviews. In the end our route looked as seen
below:
After arriving in Bangkok we
continued on the same day to Chiang Mai. We decided to start in Chiang
Mai because the city is smaller than the gigantic Bangkok metropolis
and this was our first trip to Asia anyway. After a few days in the
North we headed south, to Koh Yao Noi near Phuket to enjoy some island
feeling. Then we continued to the jungle of Khao Sok National Park, and
then back south again to Krabi and by ferry to Koh Jum. After a few
very relaxing days we finally paid Dagmar's long time pen pal Apple a
visit in Bangkok.
In Chiang Mai, our first guesthouse was Baan Hanibah Guesthouse. =>
