Today we collected our hired car from the airport. We got a Vauxhall Zafira instead of the VW Golf we had booked - a nice surprise!

Across the Firth of Forth Bridge we headed for Perthshire to visit the Strathardle Highland Gathering at Kirkmichael. We watched the traditional Highland games as well as the agricultural and various (somewhat bizarre...) home industries shows. We especially loved the sheep and cattle shows. Unfortunately we could not stay long enough to watch the caber toss.

From Kirkmichael we drove passing Loch Tay to Benderloch near Oban, where we had booked at An Struan B&B for 4 nights.

In the afternoon we had some Sandwiches at the Ben Lora Café just over the street and went for a stroll at the beach. The sunset was truly magnificent.
