Today we visited the Falls of Shin, one of the best places to watch leaping salmon in Scotland.
At
the visitor centre a wealth of information is provided about the
lifecycle of the Atlantic Salmon. In the late summer months it is
almost guaranteed to see salmon on their way upriver to the spawning
grounds, and with some patience we managed to take some very nice
pictures.
At Dunrobin Castle we were
most impressed by the gardens by the sea. Unfortunately, we had to
discover that there were no falconry shows on Sunday.
At the mile long Dornoch beach we walked for a while and watched gulls and other sea birds.
